Riding side saddle is very difficult. I would imagine that they didn't have time to teach her. If she wasn't proficient at it, she could easily be injured.

I truly liked it except for the fact that they killed off her grandfather so soon.

I think Felicity rode straddling Penny because she didn't have a saddle. It would be very difficult to ride sidesaddle bareback!
Nan was so great! I loved her!
I do agree that Felicity and Ben had some good chemistry going on there!
I didn't like the hoofbeats at the beginning, but I think that is my only beef. I thought they sounded fake considering that they didn't match up with the visual at all. But the rest I love! My mother loves the actor who played Mr. Merriman, so she must be thrilled!
I am still surprised that they fit so much into this movie. I liked it more than the Samantha one, probably because I like the colonial time period so much. Did this film have a higher budget too?

We really enjoyed the movie. I liked it much better than Samantha's (and I liked it.) We have only read Meet Felicity and Felicity's Dancing Shoes so the whole timeline issues didn't bother us . It was great seeing all the ouftits. I'm so glad DD and my niece are getting Felicity for Christmas and the other is getting Elizabeth. We will finally join the Lissie Fan Club.

I really enjoyed the movie. I thought it was a fine family movie. The music was lovely and the costumes were beautiful. If memory serves me correctly, the person who did the costumes for this movie also did some period costuming for the Avonlea series. Her name is Madeline Stewart.
Any one else think thhat name is familiar,or do I have the wrong person in mind?
There needs to be more movies and shows that are suitable for an entire family to sit down and watch together
